Generation I 1G-generation mobile phone

Generation I
1G-generation mobile phone

The first generation cell phone is also called 1G. 1-G is the first mobile phone was. In 1973, Martin Cooper of Motorola Corp. cell phones first discovered and introduced to the public on April 3, 1973. Cell phone found by Cooper weighs about 30 ounces or 800 grams. This discovery has changed the world forever. The technology used was 1-G are analogous, and is known as AMPS. AMPS uses frequency between 825 MHz-894 MHz and operated at 800 Mhz band. Because it is analog, then the system is still used regionally. One drawback generation 1-G is that its size is too large to be held by hand. Large size is due to the need battery power and performance that are less good. In addition generation 1-G still has a problem with user mobility. At the time of making a call, the user mobility is limited to coverage area of cellular phone.

The second generation or 2-G came in about the 1990s. 2G in the U.S. already use CDMA technology, while in Europe uses GSM technology. GSM uses 900 MHz frequency standard and frequency of 1800 Mhz. With these frequencies, GSM has a capacity larger customers. 2G generation analog signal has been replaced with digital signals. The use of digital signal equip cell phones with voice mail, call waiting, and SMS. Cellular phone in this generation also has a smaller size and lighter because of the use of digital chip technology. Smaller sizes are also due to the energy needs of a smaller battery. Advantages of generation 2G is size and weight of the smaller and radio signals lower, thus reducing the effects of radiation membayakan users.

This generation is also 3G which enables network operators to give their users a wider range, including the Internet as well as high-tech video calls. There are 3 in the 3G standard for the telecommunications world Enhance Datarates for GSM Evolution (EDGE), Wideband-CDMA, and CDMA 2000. The weakness of the 3G generation is relater costs higher, and the lack of network coverage because of this technology is still new.
This generation is also called Fourt Generation (4G). 4G is a cellular telephone system that offers new approaches and solutions that integrate infrstruktur wireless technologies that already exist, including wireless broadband (WiBro), 802.16e, CDMA, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, dlll. 4G systems based on IP network heterogeneity that allows users to use a variety of systems anytime and anywhere. 4G also provides users with high speed, high volume, good quality, global reach, and flexibility to explore various technologies separately different. Finally, 4G provides fast data transmission services to accommodate various multimedia applications such as video conferencing, online games, etc..
